Hi, I’m Dave…
Hi, I’m Dave. I’m 43 years old and still haven’t figured out what I want to do when I grow - and honestly, I think that’s kind of the plan.
By day, I’m a mild-mannered User Acceptance Tester, breaking software and gently whispering sweet bug reports into the void. It’s a great gig for someone like me - a curious, introverted, quietly sarcastic human who enjoys poking at things to see if they explode (digitally, of course).
By night, I’m usually the shy, quiet one in the room… until you hand me a drink or play Rapper’s Delight. Then, without warning, I transform into a one-man nostalgia-powered karaoke machine, spitting Sugarhill Gang verses like I’m trying to win a retro rap battle against the universe.
In my spare time, I collect Blu-rays. Steelbooks, to be specific. Not because I need to, but because there’s something deeply comforting about holding a physical copy of a film while muttering, “I definitely have room for one more.” (I don’t. But I believe.) My partner calls me a giant kid, which is both 100% accurate and honestly my personal brand.
I also collect toys, build retro gaming setups, and try my hand at coding all kinds of weird little projects - from websites that go nowhere to tools that solve problems nobody else has. I call them “learning opportunities.” Others might call them “abandoned,”.
Somewhere inside me is a YouTuber waiting to break free - I’ve got the love for retro games, the ideas for geeky content, and the deep, unwavering fear of pressing the record button. Confidence is a work in progress, like the rest of me.
I dabble in magic tricks (performed only for myself), write code like it’s a creative medium (buggy, weird, and full of plot twists), and dream of one day completing a project. But until then, I’ll be here - nestled somewhere between an ’80s arcade machine and a wall of limited-edition Blu-rays - trying to figure it all out, one pixel at a time.
In a world of tall buildings and cool tech, one Neanderthal dares to live among the normals… armed with a Sonic the Hedgehog mug, an arm full of Funko! Pop figures, and way too many unopened collector’s items.
